The President of the United States, Donald Trumpassured this Sunday that he had a “productive” telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. It was a few hours before a meeting in Florida between the Republican leader and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to try to agree on the terms of ending the war between Ukraine and Russia that began in February 2022.
“I just had a very good and productive phone call with Russian President Putin,” he said. Trump on his Truth Social platform ahead of the scheduled meeting with Zelensky at 1 p.m. US time (6:00 p.m. GMT and 3:00 p.m. Argentina time).
