Trump threatens Venezuela and indicates ground attacks “soon”

United States President Donald Trump once again raised his tone against Venezuela on Tuesday (2/12), during a meeting with his cabinet, indicating that ground attacks could happen “very soon.” The speech was accompanied by new criticism of Nicolas Maduro’s government and direct references to what the Republican calls “narco-terrorism” in the region.

Trump announced that his country is “doing a lot” to contain Latin American gangs, but new measures are on the way.

He added: “And we will do it by land as well. We will attack very soon. When we start attacking by land, the numbers will decrease a lot, and we will be able to live without fear that our son or daughter will take a pill and die within 60 seconds.”

The North American President mentioned Venezuela as the central hub of operations. “Venezuela has been really terrible. But other countries too. They send drug traffickers, murderers and drug terrorists here. We get rid of them.”
