Donald Trump expressed himself “shocked and outraged” by the attack on the official residence of Vladimir Putin, during a telephone conversation between the two leaders this Monday (12/29). The information was published by Russian presidential adviser Yuri Ushakov.
According to Ushakov, the American leader would still have “thanked God” for not having given kyiv Tomahawk missiles – an old request from Volodymyr Zelensky – because they have a capacity to reach up to 2,500 km, which would be sufficient for attacks against positions on Russian territory from Ukraine.

So far, the US government has yet to release further details about the phone call between Trump and Putin, a day after the Republican president received Zelensky in the US. White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt limited herself to describing the contact as “positive” in a statement published on the social network X.
Previously, the Kremlin accused Ukraine of launching unmanned vehicle attacks on Putin’s house, located in the northwestern Novgorod region. According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, 91 drones were used during the operation. But all would have been shot.
Zelensky, in turn, denies these accusations. In a statement, Ukraine’s president said the Russian government is “using dangerous statements to undermine all the results of our diplomatic efforts” in the peace talks.
“This so-called home attack story is a pure fabrication aimed at justifying further attacks on Ukraine, including in kyiv, as well as Russia’s refusal to take the necessary measures to end the war,” the Ukrainian president said. “Typical Russian lies. Besides, the Russians have already attacked kyiv in the past, including the Cabinet of Ministers building.”
In his message, the Ukrainian president referred to the recent Russian attack on the country’s capital, kyiv, on the eve of the meeting between Zelensky and Trump in the United States.
