
A TV Bandeirantes helicopter crashed Monday afternoon (12/29) in Guarulhos, in the São Paulo metropolitan area. According to preliminary information, two people were on board and survived the accident.
The accident occurred on Educador Paulo Freire Avenue, near Rodovia Presidente Dutra. On board the plane were pilot Valdo and cinema reporter Júlio Bailarino, who were not seriously injured.
During a live broadcast of Brasil Urgente, presenter Joel Datena confirmed the accident and indicated that the crew is doing well and that the helicopter’s documentation and insurance are in order. According to him, the plane was destroyed after a sudden forced landing.
The helicopter is a Robinson R44 model, a light single-engine piston aircraft with a capacity of four people, widely used in aerial reporting. The channel also indicated that it was not necessary to activate the Águia helicopter, of the military police, to respond to the incident.
