Cases occurred between the night of Saturday 6 and the morning of Sunday 7, in the south of the capital, in Diadema and Santo André.
Two women were killed and one was attacked by current and former teammates in 24 hours this weekend in Grande Sao Paulo. The victims of femicide they are Milena de Silva Lima, 27 years old, and Daniele Guedes Antunes, of 38. Maria Rosana Alves Pinto, of 43, suffered an attack. These cases reflect the spiral of violence against women and the brutality of the crimes.
Stabbings in Diadema
Milena was stabbed to death by her ex-partner João Victor de Lima Fernandes, aged 31, in a residence on Rua Yayá, in the Canhema neighborhood, in Tiaraaround 10:15 p.m. on Saturday 6. The couple had one child and had been separated for two months.
According to the incident report, a neighbor heard the victim’s cry for help and called military police. When the team arrived on scene, they found the woman and the 31-year-old attacker dead. Police confirmed that João killed Milena and then committed suicide.
The scene was inspected and the knife used in the crime was seized. The case was registered as feminicide and suicide at the 3rd Police District of the municipality.
Knife attacks in Santo André
Daniele Guedes Antunes was stabbed to death by her ex-husband Cristian Antunes in a residence on Rua Dias da Silva, Jardim do Estádio, in Saint Andrewaround 8:15 a.m. this Sunday (7).
According to the police report, military police were called to respond to a domestic violence incident and upon arriving on scene found Daniele lying on the ground. Cristian, also 38, was next to her and confessed to the crime. The woman was transported to hospital by ambulance, but she did not survive her injuries.
The knife used in the crime was seized. The expert was called and the case was registered as femicide at the 6th Police District of the commune. The author remains in custody at the disposal of the court.
Attack with a piece of wood
Antônio Pedro de Mendonça, 75 years old, was arrested in the act after attacking his partner Márcia Rosana Alves Pinto, 43 years old, on the morning of this Saturday 6, on Estrada do Alvarenga, in Balneário São Francisco, in the southern zone of Sao Paulo.
Military police were called, found the victim bleeding from his face and began searching, locating the attacker nearby. The woman was taken to UPA Parque Dorotéia and then transferred to Pronto-Socorro Pedreira.
The suspect confessed to the attack and claimed to have used a piece of wood. He also had minor bruises and received medical treatment before being taken to the police station. The authority represented the conversion of the arrest in flagrante delicto into preventive arrest. The case was registered as attempted femicide in the 98th Police District (Jardim Miriam).
What the government says
The State Secretariat for Public Security emphasizes that the fight against violence against women is a priority for the government of São Paulo.
According to the Secretariat of the Prison Administration of the State of São Paulo, there are currently 16,875 prisoners for crimes against sexual dignity and 7,555 prisoners for crimes related to the Maria da Penha law, beatings and threats, including 7,410 men.
Among the ongoing actions, the leadership of Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) highlights the Lilac Hut, which offers specialized reception to victims, with advice on protective measures and activation of vehicles if necessary. The program has already provided approximately 15,000 services. The service, created at the Military Police Operations Center, has been extended to the capital, Greater São Paulo and several interior regions.
The SSP-SP also claims to have strengthened the structure of the Women’s Defense Commissions (DDM), which currently has 142 units. The DDM rooms, open 24 hours a day, have been enlarged: there are 170 of them, allowing remote assistance for delegates on police missions.
In addition, police stations saw an increase in staff numbers with 473 new police officers and an expansion of special daily vacancies for extraordinary police working hours, to serve DDM online.
The file also highlights the SP Mulher Segura application, which allows the recording of a police report and has a panic button for requests for help. He also mentions the electronic surveillance of perpetrators of domestic violence, which currently monitors 200 offenders, 98 of whom have already been arrested for non-compliance with the measures imposed by the judiciary.
