MADRID, December 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, announced this Friday that the new consultations to be held this weekend in Miami on the war will have the presence of European security advisers, a novelty compared to other meetings in the United States.
“We thank the United States for the coordination that allows us to maintain a common vision and move forward in a coordinated manner,” the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine told X about the meeting that will take place in Miami.
The inclusion of representatives is a novelty compared to this type of previous meetings on American soil, although they were already present at the meeting a few days ago in Berlin, the German capital, where the parties agreed to highlight the “many advances” that have been made.
Umerov stressed that he was engaging in “a constructive process” and indicated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s priorities would be on the table. “Ukraine’s security must be guaranteed reliably and in the long term,” he concluded.
This weekend’s meeting comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin again stressed on Friday that Zelensky was not prepared for a peaceful solution to the conflict and warned that everything now depends on kyiv and its partners. “The ball is in their court,” he said.
