The union centers wish to meet Minister Guilherme Boulos (General Secretariat of the Presidency) to discuss the composition of the technical working group created to debate the rights of application deliverers, considered restrictive by the unions.
Last Thursday (11), Força Sindical sent a note to Boulos criticizing the ordinance that created the working group to discuss the regulation of applications, due to the decision to limit the number of union representatives in the collegiate to three. “The Ministry of Labor and Employment today recognizes six national unions, all of which have the legitimacy to represent all Brazilian workers,” the text states.
This Monday (15), the Official Journal published a decree dated last Friday (12) with the names of representatives of the federal government and civil society, but without those indicated by the unions. Ricardo Patah, president of the UGT (General Union of Workers), says the unions will not name names before meeting Boulos.
“We will not appoint anyone without having a conversation with Boulos and better clarifying things, because many movements carried out by the associations are in reality resolved by the union structure,” he says. “These social movements do not have an effective capacity to formulate strong demands, we must therefore demonstrate synergy,” he adds.
The president of the UGT affirms that without this, the working group “will not move forward”. “This doesn’t lead anywhere. And Boulos is aware that, in the world of work, it is the union structure that represents the workers, and not the associations,” he adds.
Contacted, the General Secretariat of the Presidency specifies that the unions have been invited to participate in the technical working group of delivery people and “can designate their representatives at any time”. “One of the objectives of the GT is to also listen to the large sectors of the category which are not unionized,” he continues. “This is why entities that have other forms of organization, such as worker associations with regional representation, were invited.”
