Confirming this favoritism, Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé, of PSG-FRA, won FIFA’s The Best award this Tuesday, as the best player of the season, winning the double of the two biggest awards – in September he also won the Ballon d’Or, from France Football magazine. Another favorite, the Spaniard Aitana Bonmatí (Barcelona-ESP) won the third consecutive title of best player.
— It was a fantastic year, whether individually or collectively. I would like to thank my family who have always supported me and PSG who gave us this fantastic year. I want to thank the president (Infantino) and I hope to receive this award again next year — Dembélé said.
The 28-year-old forward scored 35 goals and 14 assists in 53 matches in the 2024/2025 season, when he won the Champions League, French Championship and Coupe de France with PSG.
The Spanish midfielder, despite her respective defeat in the final of the Women’s Champions League and the Women’s European Championship, won the award for best player in both competitions. The 27-year-old received the award on crutches, as she suffered a fractured fibula in early December and is currently recovering.
Besides Dembélé, the French team topped the team of the year with six of the 11 players — goalkeeper Donnarumma, now at Manchester City, played for PSG during the analysis period.

Currently at Manchester City-ING, Donnarumma won the best goalkeeper of the year award for the season at PSG. Also in English football, Chelsea-ING goalkeeper Hannah Hampton won the Best of the Year award.
