Vasco announced Friday evening the renewal of striker Rayan’s contract. Scorer of one of the goals in the 2-1 victory against Fluminense this Thursday in the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil, the jewel signed a new contract until the end of 2028.
The conversations had been going on for several months. The kid had a contract until the end of 2026. With the new deal he got salary increases. With a fine of 40 million euros for clubs abroad in the previous contract, the player is highly targeted by the market and is expected to be the biggest sale in the club’s history.
The ad contained a special video, showing an actor playing the player in 2018, watching a Philippe Coutinho goal during that year’s World Cup, while living in Barreira do Vasco, the neighboring community of São Januário in which he grew up. In the end, the player appears alongside his father, Valkmar, a former club player, and his mother, Vanessa, a former Vasco employee.

“Son of Barreira do Vasco and #BaseForte, Rayan completely identifies with Gigante da Colina in a relationship that goes beyond the four lines. The jewel arrived at the club at the age of six, went through all the youth categories with distinction, accumulating goals, titles and call-ups for all categories of the Brazilian national team,” the club wrote in a statement.
Elected revelation of Brasileirão 2025, during which he scored 14 goals, Rayan already has 20 this season. The youngest player of the century to play for Vasco, at 16 years and 10 months, the striker played 97 matches and scored 23 goals for the club.
