VIRAL VIDEO HAS A GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOL WATERMARK
What they share: the video reportedly shows a Brazilian explorer reaching the “end of the world”. He finds a dome that would protect the planet and shouts, “The Earth is flat!” »
Estadão Verifica investigated and concluded that: this is false. The video was created with artificial intelligence (AI) from OpenAI. This is evident due to the tool watermark visible in the images. There are other signs that the content is fake, such as flaws in the voice and face of the character appearing in the video.
Learn more: One of the accounts that posted the AI video has been viewed 8.5 million times. In the comments, people thought the video could be real, but taken out of context: “I just see a deserted place with a building (…) it’s a building somewhere,” one profile wrote. “This is a futuristic construction they are doing in Saudi Arabia,” said another.
In reality, the video was created with artificial intelligence. At certain times, the Sora watermark appears, the name of the tool from the company OpenAI, owner of ChatGPT, which creates synthetic images.
There are other features whose content is falsified: the movement of the man’s face that appears in the video is unnatural, his gaze is static and the voice is robotic, without natural pauses in human breathing. These are determining factors for detecting this type of content.
One of the Instagram pages that shared the video often shares content visibly created by AI. The messages include images of aliens and UFOs.
