Germany’s biggest Santa Claus run took place last weekend in Michendorf. According to the organization, more than a thousand Santas have been organized. An event that combines sport, tradition and Christmas atmosphere.
“People come simply to immerse themselves in the spirit of Advent and Christmas, and it is the largest costumed Santa race in Germany,” explains Heiko Peschel, a member of the organization.
The race is already traditional: it has taken place for 17 years near Berlin. The race varies from 2.5 to 10 km. To participate, all you have to do is put on a good old man’s costume.
Children also take part in an exclusive race: the “elf hat race”. At the end, instead of a medal, everyone receives a chocolate Santa Claus.
