Striker Vinicius Júnior gave an interview to Real Madrid’s official television and gave a candid assessment of the team’s performance over the past year. In a self-critical tone, the Brazilian admitted that the season did not go as planned, but showed confidence in a recovery from 2026.
“We know that we have to improve so that 2026 is a better year for everyone, especially for the Madrid fans. I continue to learn a lot with this club, with these fans, with everyone. It was not a good year for us, but we have no doubt that we will win again and that we will be at the top,” said the number 7.

In addition to sports analysis, Vini Jr. took advantage of the moment to send a New Year message to Merengue fans, reinforcing the ambition of titles and the link with the Spanish club.
“For 2026, I ask for health, tranquility and a lot of titles for Real Madrid, because that is what makes us happy and makes the supporters happy. Hala Madrid, always,” he added.
Even without a season considered ideal by the squad, Real Madrid remains competitive. Under coach Xabi Alonso, the team currently sits second in La Liga, behind only Barcelona, and remains alive in the fight for the national title.
The Merengues’ next match will take place on Sunday (4/1), against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabéu, in an important match for the rest of the season and for the consolidation of the team in the fight for the leadership of the Spanish Championship.
