
Early in the morning of December 14, 2025, the calm in the Ciudadela 2000 neighborhood of Cartagena was abruptly broken by a violent armed attack that left a woman and a man dead.

The first official versions indicate that the couple received several shots, most of them in the head, causing panic among neighbors.
Images circulating on social networks, especially Facebook, show the bodies together on the ground, both wearing similar clothing: jeans, sweaters and tennis shoes.

The bodies remained on the street until the arrival of the Sijín technical staff assigned to the Cartagena Metropolitan Police who carried out the forensic inspection to collect evidence and transport them to the Forensic Medicine Mortuary in Zaragocilla.
The victims were Deisy Tatiana Castañeda Salazar, 34 years old; and Bernardo Blanco Berrío, aka Cloro or Blanco.
The double murder in Ciudadela in 2000 has sparked concern and reflection among residents, who are calling on authorities to double security measures and speed up the investigation of the crime.
Authorities confirmed that Blanco Berrio had criminal records for conspiracy to commit a crime in 2019, illegal possession of a weapon in 2022 and threats in 2024, registered in the Oral Accusatory Criminal System (SPOA) of the Attorney General’s Office.
According to the police report alias El Cloro appeared in Cartagena’s most wanted cartel for years.

His previous arrest came in October 2022 when Metropolitan Police raided a house in the Villa Cádiz neighborhood where weapons and drugs were being stored.
In this operation, the prosecution explained the following: “The property was used to store drugs and firearms.“, while the prisoners, including alias El Cloro, were part of the Los Paisas criminal structure and were in the service of the Golf clan.
Police investigations indicate that this is the case alias El Cloro had connections to extortion, drug trafficking, recording and criminal organization crimes.
After some time out of the city, intelligence agencies determined that he had returned to Cartagena less than a month before the attack.
Police called on the community to work together and provide data that would allow progress in solving this double murder. For this purpose, in addition to the institutional radio station, it also activated the emergency number 123 and the official WhatsApp.

The month with the highest death rate was August with 44 crimes, 33 of which were committed by contract killers. June was second with 37 violent deaths, 26 of which were by contract killers.
In July, 31 homicides were reported and in September authorities documented 24, including 20 by contract killers and four in various settings, including lynchings and cases related to police procedures.
The figures highlight a trend of ongoing violence that requires urgent responses from authorities.
