Professionals from different fields related to innovation — from the world of entertainment to the world of social networks — will come together at the Voices 2025 event, next Wednesday (10), at MAR – Museu de Arte do Rio, to discuss possible paths of technology (or, better, technologies). A translation of a future that presents itself without asking permission, this word with plural meanings will serve as a compass for free conferences with well-known names, including presenter Fátima Bernardes, software engineer Orkut Büyükkökten, designer Oskar Metsavaht and digital influencer Blô Barbosa.
- Science, technology and the future: Brazil’s future depends on investment in training professionals in strategic areas
- “Trauma and disruption”: Elon Musk predicts a future where artificial intelligence and robots will make work ‘optional’
Throughout the day, at more than 15 tables — including discussions and workshops — the public will be able to follow the ideas and thoughts of people who have dedicated themselves, diligently, to developing healthier propositions from old and new technological resources. Voices is an initiative of Editora Globo and Sistema Globo de Rádio, sponsored by the City of Rio and the Municipal Ministry of Education and sponsored by Claro Empresas and Insper. To participate, you must register for free via the event website.
— Technology has evolved in extraordinary ways. But technology alone is not the answer to human connection. Technology should serve us, not divide us — underlines Orkut Büyükkökten, creator of Orkut, a pioneering social network that enjoyed success in Brazil in the 2000s.

The Turkish programmer — who will speak about the current social media scenario on the planet — firmly believes in the “return of human-centered digital spaces,” as he emphasizes. Over the past few years, he has created a new social platform to combat what he calls “the loneliness epidemic.” The idea, as the professional says, is to reshape the way people connect online, in a way that “amplifies the best in humanity, instead of provoking the worst.”
— At some point we forget that technologies are created by us and that they should actually improve our lives — he emphasizes. — The human heart remains the same: we always want to love and be loved. Everyone wants to feel connection and belonging. But how many of us can say we actually feel that way when we go online these days?
A professional who operates in different fields of knowledge – from medicine to fashion, from sports to visual arts – Oskar Metsavaht will share some of the concepts that guide the clothing and accessories brand Osklen, with an emphasis on the idea of ASAP (acronym for “as sustainable as possible, as soon as possible”, which, in Portuguese, means “as sustainable as possible, as quickly as possible”), during a panel on algorithms in the world of fashion.
— We must change our practices through innovation, but without allowing ourselves to be paralyzed by the quasi-utopia of 100% sustainable. The important thing is to start: 1% the first year, 2% the next, and then it’s double — underlines the creative director of the Osklen brand and the OM.art studio. — Technology is taking us towards a world desired by humanity, with biotechnology allowing us to live longer. I believe in the power of tools such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and augmented reality for hardware innovation, for a more balanced lifestyle and for a higher quality experience for our customers, our community.
