The head of the Vox delegation to the European Parliament, Jorge Buxadé, and the candidate of this formation for the presidency of the Junta de Extremadura, Óscar Fernández, accused the President of Extremadura, María Guardiola, of not “have a nose” meet with area farmers and ranchers and explain to them the policies he believes are harming them.
Buxadé made these statements this Sunday in the town of Plasencia in Cáceres, where, accompanied by Oscar Fernández and other party members at the regional level, held a meeting with breeders and farmers from the north of Cáceres.
The MEP criticized the fact that, even if Guardiola publicly claims that he defends the rural world, hunting or bullfighting, “don’t come and give explanations on inspections, procedures and administrative delays which, in their opinion, affect the sector”.
Buxadé assured that the Extremadura countryside suffers from the same problems as other regions due to a “a political structure that lives off the problem and it creates obstacles for farmers and ranchers without solving any of their problems.
Furthermore, he was burdened by what he called “this Socialist Party mafia and this Popular Party scam”, saying that over the past two years, “nothing has happened” and there has been “a single change” in the situation in the countryside.
Buxadé warned that in a few weeks “a new scam will be consummated” with the signing of the Mercosur agreement, which according to him will be “the final blow” for European and Extremadura breeding.
For his part, Óscar Fernández explained that after meeting with breeders and farmers from the north of Cáceres, they confirmed “a general feeling of abandonment by the government of Extremadura”.
Fernández also said that this feeling is accentuated when crises arise, such as during the recent Jarilla fire, with 17,000 hectares burned“where the Council has not come before, during or after to meet basic needs such as the supply of livestock feed.”
