The actress Fernanda Torres was among the artists who participated in the event this Sunday (14) in Copacabana. Alongside her husband, director Andrucha Waddington, the actress addressed the audience during singer Lenin’s presentation: “We are here to wake up Congress. They (members of Congress) cannot work for themselves. We are always here,” said Fernanda Torres.
The Political Debate Monitor and the non-governmental organization More in Common estimated that 18,900 people attended the Copacabana protest this Sunday afternoon. According to the survey, with a margin of error of 12%, the count indicates an audience, at peak time, of between 16.7 thousand and 21.2 thousand people. The calculation was made from photos of areas analyzed with artificial intelligence software.
After Lenin, Fafá de Belém, Xamã and Baco Exu of the Blues, Paulinho da Viola and Gilberto Gil participated in the event, which had Caetano Veloso as its main host.
Chico Buarque began his show with “Vai passa”, one of the symbols of the military dictatorship, and performed a duet with Fernanda Torres. The singer ended the song by shouting “no amnesty and no dosimetry”.
Singer Emicida also took part in the act and chanted “Hugo Motta, we are ashamed of you”.
After performing alone and with his partner Caetano Veloso, Gil called on the public to demonstrate more often: “(It’s) interesting that we have more situations like this in Brazil. We need people to demonstrate more and in a more intense and complete way to convince the people responsible for working for the improvement of the country’s laws that we will be there whenever it is necessary.”
The musical part of the act in Rio followed the speeches of politicians who demanded the end of the amnesty and the overthrow of the dosimetry PL.
