“We don’t want to continue to be embarrassed. Tell me to my face what you plan to do”

The ERC spokesperson in Congress, Gabriel Rufianrequested a meeting with the president of the government this Monday, Pedro Sanchezso that he can explain to his party what he intends to do to regenerate the PSOE and the government and wondered if continuing in this situation was a good thing.

In statements to the media from the Lower House, he said that, like any progressive, he finds himself faced with a dilemma regarding what is happening with the alleged cases of corruption and sexual harassment affecting the Executive and the Socialist Party.

“Many of us do not want (Santiago) Abascal to be vice president, but also many of us do not want to continue to experience the shame as we experience every day,” he added, in statements reported by Efe.

He said that the protagonists are the same and the plots multiply so much asked the government to stop thinking everything is a conspiracy and to “stop complaining” because “it doesn’t work”, and not to use “and you too” because it’s a “me too”.

The Republican spokesperson asked Sánchez to meet with his party beyond the “grandiloquence” of the measures he could announce today, government crises or Tik Tok videos, to explain what he intends to do.

He added that beyond the judicial and media offensive reported for some time, “things have been found” here and we cannot ask the left of the PSOE to “parachute and swallow everything”.

He also asked if it was good to hold on so that – he said – the right and the extreme right do not arrive, because the other question is to what extent these formations are “inflated” by the permanence of this situation.

Finally, and to questions from journalists, he asked Sumar to stop complaining so much, to propose measures to the Council of Ministers and to listen to the street rather than the advisors.
