Amazon’s voice assistant, Alexa, was the target of millions of user questions throughout 2025, revealing curiosity trends ranging from technology concepts to international celebrities, according to a survey published by the company itself.
One of the most common questions Alexa was asked in recent months was “what does AI mean?” ”, indicating that many users are still seeking to understand the very foundations of the technology that powers virtual assistants and other digital resources.
In addition, questions related to general knowledge were also among the most popular, such as questions asked by the English on how long it takes to make a poached egg and what is the diameter of the Earth.
Interest in celebrities was another strong point. Users wanted to know how tall Tom Cruise is and who Ed Sheeran and Rod Stewart are. Their wealth was also the subject of questions: first, the value of Elon Musk’s assets was the most questioned, followed by YouTuber Mr Beast and singer Taylor Swift.
Taylor herself was the most played artist via Alexa, followed by Bruno Mars, with the track “APT”, recorded with Rosé, being among the most played songs by users.
The data also showed that the structure of questions varies between countries, with lists published in different regions highlighting other popular topics, such as interesting facts about sports, cooking and even Islamic prayer times in some locations.
In the UK, football tops the list of most asked sports, ahead of Formula 1, rugby, cricket and golf. When it comes to athletes, Cristiano Ronaldo is the one who has generated the most interest among the British, followed by Lionel Messi, David Beckham, John Cena and Ricky Hatton.
Australians asked how tall singer Sabrina Carpenter was and who “Stranger Things” star Finn Wolfhard was married to, hearing in response that the actor’s marital status was single. They also asked “how to sleep” and “how to solve a Rubik’s Cube” quite frequently.
In Ireland, the top questions asked of Alexa were “what is the value of bitcoin?” » and “How old is Donald Trump?” Cristiano Ronaldo, Taylor Swift and Lionel Messi were the most searched celebrities.
