The Association of State Workers (ATE) confirmed that it will carry out a strike this Tuesday 9th against the labor reform promoted by the national government in Congress. This is a measure announced by the ATE Province of Buenos Aires and which will have an impact on the various departments of the public administration in La Plata.
The general secretary of ATE-Capital, Daniel Catalano, assured that with these changes the management of President Javier Milei wants “the disappearance of trade union organization” and collective agreements.
“They want the labor stability agreements to be called into question, to be deprived of compensation, or to be forced to resign in order to be rehired in some sectors. Yesterday, the official statement came out that the government has called extraordinary meetings between December 10th and 30th. They want not only labor reform, but also penal reform,” he explained.
Likewise, he pointed out that the unions of Hugo Yasky and Hugo Godoy, general secretaries of the two CTAs (Workers and Autonomists), “have spoken to the triumvirate of the CGT” so that they can “take action together”, but regardless of whether this is achieved or not, the strike called by the ATE will take place.
