The third week of December is here, bringing not only the countdown to Christmas, but also a wave of premieres and streaming news. Platforms such as Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video have updated their catalogs with new episodes of series already popular with the public, as well as new Christmas-themed films and productions. Options range from light, family entertainment to gripping stories to binge watching. Check it out!
1. The Babysitter – season 3 (12/17) – Netflix
Starring Iván Amozurrutia, the Mexican series “The Babysitter” won over viewers by mixing comedy, drama and a touch of romance. In the third season, the plot promises even more excitement. After the difficult events of the season two finale, Jimena (Sandra Echeverría), a busy and recently divorced executive who hires a breeder to care for her three children, finds herself facing new dilemmas within the company. All this while facing challenges in her relationship with Gabriel (Iván Amozurrutia), who has completely transformed the energy of her house and generated conflicts with her ex-husband. Will they finally be together this time? You just have to look to find out.
2. Emily in Paris – season 5 (12/18) – Netflix
The romantic drama “Emily in Paris,” created by Darren Star, is back with its fifth and final season. With ten episodes, the plot brings big changes to the life of Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), who faces emotional and personal challenges while adapting to a new country.
When everything finally seems to fall into place, “a work idea doesn’t go as planned, and the consequences lead to romantic disappointments and career obstacles,” details the official synopsis. The new season brings the original cast and new faces who promise to leave their mark on the story.
3. Fallout – Season 2 (12/17) – Prime Video
Starring Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten and Walton Goggins, the second season of the video game adaptation “Fallout” returns with new developments, remaining faithful to the game universe. Continuing the outcome of the first season, the eight new episodes follow Lucy (Ella Purnell), a young woman who launches into a post-apocalyptic world to save her father, and Necrotic (Walton Goggins), a mercenary scarred by radiation, who end up forming an unexpected alliance.
Throughout the plot, the duo faces an even more complex and dangerous path, searching for the truth about the explosion that devastated the country and changed the destiny of humanity 200 years ago. The new season adopts a different release format, with weekly episodes airing on Wednesdays until February 4, leaving aside the marathon model previously used.
4. Mickey and Minnie’s Christmas Carols (12/17) – Disney+
“Mickey and Minnie’s Christmas Carols” is Disney’s new Christmas special for 2025. In the production, Mickey, Minnie, Santa and their friends star in five charming and fun Christmas shorts, set to special seasonal music. All this while taking a spirited sleigh ride that passes Mickey’s house, the town tree, Santa’s workshop and even a disco party at the North Pole.
5. Kumail Nanjiani: Night Thoughts (12/19) – Disney+
The comedy “Kumail Nanjiani: Night Thoughts” marks the return of actor and comedian Kumail Nanjiani to stand-up, after thirteen years away from the stage. In the special, he revisits his origins in humor by exploring new jokes and musings that address, according to the official synopsis, topics such as anxiety, the danger of buying drugs before legalization, and medicine for cats. The production is part of Disney+’s efforts to add more comedy to the catalog and promises to give subscribers a good laugh.
