“Riviera It is a shipyard is dedicated to building boats with more than 30 years of experience. He was born as my father, Jorge Aragona“He was only 25 years old and he built his first shed from the ground up,” his son said Designer Nicolás Aragonawho works in the Interior design of the boats.
The inspiration for these boats comes from the Mediterranean. The family has Italian roots and, strangely enough, Aragona and his wife spent much of their childhood there Saint Sostia small town in southern Italy, although they only met after they emigrated to Argentina.
“My father worked in Italy for many years and from there he brought with him fresh ideas, inspiration for our boats and contacts with suppliers with whom we still work today. He Exterior design of our boats is responsible for one of the most important references in Italy: Carlo Galeazzia designer with his own shipyard who I deeply admire,” said Nicolás.
“At Riviera we work with one Boutique approach: We prioritize that ExcellenceThe Quality and the designnever rapid or mass production,” explained Aragona.
The company produces maximum three boats at the same timeeach with a careful process that takes about a year and a half. “Every boat requires enormous work and attention to detail”he added.
“I am proud of my father’s efforts, his courage to grow and build his own space. With Riviera he was able to take a dream and turn it into reality.”
“A huge kitchen was designed to look like a boat and was intended to be like a house.” It contains a large glass panel that serves as DishesA Panel refrigerator And complete equipment: convenient sink, practical oven and everything you need to make the most of every space.
At the beginning of design, there are no rigid hierarchies or instructions that are simply executed. A real one in the workshop Tour with the carpentry team. “There’s a lot of teamwork behind it, something essential to build a boat of these dimensions. “This dialogue allows us to give every detail a twist and find solutions together.”
“Each boat is like a tailor-made suit: no two are the same. We design with each customer in mind, with unique joinery and different materials. From the outside they look similar, but inside they are completely different worlds.”
Something very special and innovative was achieved in this project: a balcony. “It cost us a lot to bring it to the Argentine public and especially to the boats. This piece of glass didn’t exist, we brought it specially.” “We wanted to encourage contemplation and the idea of being on a real balcony.”
“The owner likes it classic And the sober tones like blue and beige,” says the designer. The challenge was clear: How can you create a current ship when the team has first worked with heavy palettes, chocolate and dark tones? How to return to tones like beige without losing freshness?
The answer lay in the details. In the CabinsFor example, a dialogue arose between the Oak yellow – natural veneer, morning oak – and a Oak floor natural compound, treated and brought in the oven from Italy. “It is a floor that radiates warmth when you touch it. I always say that the feel of the wood means quality of life, and even more so when it comes from there.”
The goal was Blending classic with modern. That’s what it’s for Curves typical of 70s and 90s boatsand the palette has been redefined: the Beige They were no longer associated with brown tones and they were brought to the gray. So that’s it Exterior padding Foregoes the traditional yellowish beige and is combined with Shades of gray and hints of brownfind a balance elegant and contemporary.
The customer had one Fascination with bluebut the idea was to give it a twist: they chose bluish gray tones that provide sophistication without losing freshness. “I like to play with complementary elements,” explains the designer, and this premise led him to break with convention: he opted for warm light cold lighting with subtle pigment violet, an unexpected detail that changed the atmosphere. “We took a risk and I think it was a very good decision.”
“On average, we spend two years with our customers, discovering their tastes and even the aromas that inspire them. We want them to fall in love with their boat. In this case, we choose a masculine scent with leather, chestnut and wood.”
“The best thing was working with one adult customer with classic tastes who was encouraged to take on challenges and in whom he had complete trust. Winning this trust filled us with pride. He has been a sailing fan his entire life; I already had a boat, but an old one, from ’75,” Nicolás remembers.
“Our connection to Italy is direct and close. It is a country passionate about sailing and committed to the design of every boat. You don’t want to produce quickly, but rather with high quality. We cultivate this culture: We don’t want a boat designed by artificial intelligence, but Each piece is unique and reflects our essence and our craftsmanship.“.
This is on top of the boat terraceknown as fly. It was designed for maximum enjoyment: a grill, a tap and even a refrigerator. “You can cook in comfort while your family sits next to you, accompanying you and sharing the moment.”
“Everything is made by hand, in the forge. We don’t work with standard parts: we make every detail, even our own doors.”
