As the holidays approach, pensioners in the province of Buenos Aires who receive their salaries through the Social Security Institute (IPS) keep asking themselves the same question: When will the December bonus be collected?
As with the state, teachers and other provincially dependent authorities, the date has not yet been officially announced. As reported yesterday, the Buenos Aires government confirmed this Monday that it will pay Buenos Aires public employees half the bonus “before the Christmas and New Year holidays”. The news was announced by Buenos Aires Government Secretary Carlos Bianco, although he did not provide specific details on the payment dates.
As far as the IPS is concerned, the payment schedule is expected to be published around this time.
Sources consulted by this newspaper stated that “it is likely that, just as in previous years, half the bonus will be paid next week” and that December salaries will be paid on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th.
