Maria Elena Di Rocco (79) She had been widowed four years ago. Last Sunday she went to the cemetery to lay flowers on her husband’s grave, but when she returned home she suffered a tragic death: she overturned her car on an unprotected bridge and drowned.
Everything happened around 2:30 p.m. on December 28th in the city Adolfo Gonzales Chavessouth of the province of Buenos Aires.
According to neighbors on social networks, the wooden bridge was closed because the road, which is unpaved, was not in good condition, but it was reopened after some repairs.
It is located on Yapeyú Street in the Quintas section, in a section of the Pata Larga lagoon, about ten blocks from the urban area.
Di Rocco was driving his Fiat Palio when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control and ended up on the water Algae coverwith all four wheels raised.
A neighbor who was passing by the place jumped in without hesitation and saved the pensioner. With the help of a woman, they performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on her but were unable to save her.
The case was handled by Juan Carlos Ustarrozfrom the prosecutor Gonzales Chaves, who ordered the autopsy to be carried out.
Although the results have not yet been announced, they believe that the pensioner died by drowning.
The victim was a fan of her hydrangeas and roses and had a daughter and three grandchildren. The funeral took place this Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the same cemetery where the remains of her husband, who died at the age of 85, rest.
