Comedian Whindersson Nunes opened his heart this Friday (12/05) by talking about the moment he questioned his own sexual orientation during psychiatric treatment. He said the interaction with his therapist deeply affected his emotions.
After being discharged from hospitalization, Whindersson returned home under the care of a therapy companion. During this period, he realizes that he begins to see professionals differently, particularly because of the attentive manner in which he is treated.
“I went home and they left me with a therapy companion. A guy who was 6 feet tall, handsome, and I started looking at this guy differently,” he told the Intelligence Ltda podcast.
The situation caused the actor to question his sexuality. “I was in the living room at home and I was thinking, ‘Maybe this is the problem with my life. I’m gay.’ Then I thought, ‘Ah, if I’m gay, I’ll have to do what gay people do, too.’

According to him, after spending about three days with the therapist, he decided to seek other treatment and returned to the hospital. Whindersson said he shared his discomfort with his partner, who then recommended him to a new clinic.
During the story, the comedian also reflected on the difficulty men have in showing affection: “It was the first time a man took good care of me, with care, affection. Men are difficult to open up, you don’t open up much to say things. He treated me well, waking up every day with medicine in his hand, I looked at him like that. Then the guy thought.”
