The thief who broke into a house in Vicente Pires (DF) and tortured a 55-year-old man for about 3 hours during a robbery was identified as 29-year-old Joanderson dos Santos Morais.
He was arrested by the Federal District Military Police (PMDF) this Tuesday morning (30/12), in Ceilândia (DF). Born in São Luís (MA), the thief had an open provisional arrest warrant.
Understand the case:
- The crime occurred in the early hours of Saturday (12/27).
- According to the PMDF, the criminal entered the house around 2 a.m. Upon noticing the invasion, the victim tried to react, but suffered several bodily injuries.
- The victim, Osmar José de Mesquita, admitted to the intensive care unit of Santa Marta Hospital, succumbed to his injuries and died this Tuesday.
Security camera footage shows the attacker left the area around 5 a.m., leaving the residence completely ransacked. After the attack, the man fled with a cell phone and laptop.
