Who was the priest who disappeared and found dead in the parish house

Father Júlio César Agripino, 38, worked at the Nossa Senhora do Carmo parish, in Carmo do Rio Claro, south of Minas Gerais. He was known for his punctuality and lived in the town’s parish house.

This Friday (12/05), the priest did not show up for the mass scheduled for 7 p.m., which attracted the attention of employees and the faithful. When they went to the Parish House, they found Júlio César unconscious in his room. Customer service was immediately called and he was transported to São Vicente de Paulo Hospital.

Júlio did not survive and his death was confirmed to be a heart attack.

This Saturday (12/06), massive masses brought together the faithful at the main church to pay homage to the priest. A procession was prepared and followed through the main square until the exit of the city, from where the body was transported to Guaxupé, his hometown.

The parish mourned Júlio’s death and emphasized that his life was “a testimony of faith and love for the Church.” Carmo do Rio Claro City Hall also expressed regret and said the loss leaves a “void in the community,” offering solidarity to family, friends and worshipers.
