The woman found dead after being thrown into the Cauamé River, in Boa Vista (RR), has been identified as Ana Paula Oliveira da Silva (featured photo), 23 years old.
This place is known to be used for religious baptisms. The main suspect in the crime is 46-year-old evangelical pastor Andreson Bezerra de Carvalho, who was arrested on Tuesday (16/12).
Ana Paula was found dead on November 7 this year. The body was naked and tied to some woods on the banks of the river.

Understand the case:
- The arrest took place during Operation Arcanum, coordinated by the DGH, with the support of Military Police intelligence.
- The investigation revealed that Andreson frequented environments where drinking and prostitution occurred – unusual behavior for a religious leader.
- During his testimony, the pastor said that he met Ana Paula in a bar in the Pintolândia neighborhood and that they left together after the meeting.
- According to him, the young woman asked to be accompanied and, during the journey, they stopped to buy alcoholic drinks before heading towards the Cauamé region.
The pastor gives his version
Pastor Andreson denies the crime. He told police he left Ana Paula alone near the river.
The suspect said the victim was a drug user, left and did not witness any crime. The pastor also said there were other people there he didn’t know.
