Stranger Things was confirmed with volume 1 of its fifth season as an absolute phenomenon of Netflix. This ambitious production, which has only grown in content and form since its premiere in 2016, has drawn a global audience into the Upside Down thanks to its dedication to ’80s nostalgia, rising horror and a group of actors now transformed into stars.
Without a doubt, the success of the series depends largely on the success of its casting. Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery and the rest of the protagonists grew up in front of the cameras and Hollywood was quick to notice them. Beyond the main characters, the supporting characters have also shined season after season, as was the case with Eddie (Joseph Quinn) in the fourth opus and now with Derek (Jake Connelly) and Holly (Nell Fisher) in the fifth.
The little ones are not the only ones to have caught the attention of viewers in the new episodes of Stranger things. Hope Hynes Love, who plays Miss Harris, Derek and Holly’s teacher also made his way into the plot, notably in the last episode of volume 1.
And who is Hope Hynes Love? A much more important addition than it seems at first glance, which has a very special link with the Duffer brothers, the creators of the bet.
The Duffers’ real teacher appears in “Stranger Things 5”
As we said, Miss Harris is Derek and Holly’s teacher and has a special narrative significance in the episode. Wizard, the fourth and last of volume 1. In it, he accompanies his young students to MAC-Z, the military installations from where Joyce (Winona Ryder), Will (Noah Schnapp) and the others try to get them out to save them from Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower).
Ross Duffer shared an image of Miss Harris on his Instagram account, where he revealed that she was Hope Hynes Love, who was his drama teacher at Durham High School in North Carolina.
“High school was tough for my brother (Matt) and I, but Hope saw something in us that we hadn’t seen in ourselves and gave us the confidence to not only survive these four years, but to move to Los Angeles and pursue our dream,” » explained Ross Duffer.
The creative duo wanted to have Hope, who served as their mentor, in the final season of the series that propelled them to fame. “Hello to all the teachers who are making a difference,” he added, before saying goodbye by asking: “Please, let’s prioritize art in schools.”
Oddly enough, the school where Love works also celebrated her participation in Stranger things.

On December 26, the Duffers will be back with the premiere of volume 2 of Stranger Things and, on January 1, they will finish it with a final episode. Whatever happens, whoever ends up in Hawkins, the professor who inspired them to pursue cinema, is already part of the legendary 80s universe they created on Netflix.
