With Messi’s show, Inter Miami beats the Whitecaps and becomes MLS champion

Inter Miami is the great champion of MLS. The team beat the Vancouver Whitecaps 2 x 1 this Saturday (6/12) at Chase Stadium and won the title.

The final pitted renowned players on opposing teams: Lionel Messi, accompanied by Sergio Busquets, Rodrigo de Paul, Luis Suárez and Jordi Alba, against Thomas Muller, 2014 world champion and Bayern Munich idol.

Inter Miami took the lead, with an own goal from Ocampo seven minutes into the first half. Allende attempted a cross towards Silvetti, but the Colombian deflected it towards his own goal.

Muller’s team were tied 14 minutes into the second half. Ahmed shot for the first time after some superb individual play from White. However, just over 10 minutes later, Messi stole the ball on the offensive court and served to his compatriot De Paul to break the tie.

When the lights went out, in the 50th minute, Allende received a pass from Messi and “closed the coffin”: 3 x 1.
