At Shell stations, filling a 50-liter tank with Premium costs P97,900 / Roberto Acosta
With the fuel increase implemented since yesterday, the price of premium gasoline is already close to 2,000 pesos in Shell and exceeds 1,800 pesos in YPF at the pumps in the region. Filling a 50-liter tank of a mid-sized car can cost P97,900 with premium gasoline.
Adding to the volatile (almost always increasing) prices of state oil company YPF is yesterday’s increase ordered by the national government.
Specifically, the executive ordered a new increase in taxes on liquid fuels and carbon dioxide.
This measure was made official by Decree 782/2025, issued at the end of last October, and repeats the policy of increases that the government postponed for several months to contain inflation.
Under the rule, the tax burden on gasoline will increase by 15.56 pesos per liter, and an additional 0.95 pesos will be added to the carbon dioxide tax (IDC). For diesel, the increase in general tax will be P12.64 per liter.
The update attempts to make up for the remaining leftovers from 2024 and the first months of 2025, which were distributed over several phases.

At Shell stations: Super NAFTA: 1,670 pesos; V-Power gasoline: P1,958; Diesel V-Power: 1,899 pesos; Evolux Diesel: 1,626 pesos.
Meanwhile, in Accion, premium gasoline: $1,629 pesos; Quantity (premium): 1929 pesos; Diesel x10: 1,678 pesos; And Quantum Diesel x 10: 1889 pesos.
New increases
Without letting up on money, the Energy Secretariat yesterday agreed to an increase of up to 5 percent in the prices of biofuels allocated for the legal mixture with gasoline and diesel, through Resolutions 485 and 486/2025 published in the Official Gazette.
This factor will add greater pressure on sector costs, which could shift to the pumps in the coming weeks.
