Tainara Souza Santos, 31, crushed and dragged about a kilometer north of São Paulo, died on the night of Wednesday 24, Christmas Eve.
“It is with great pain that I come to inform you that our little warrior, Tay, has left us. She has been resting,” said Lúcia Aparecida Silva, the victim’s mother, on social networks. “It is an immense pain, but the suffering is over. And now it is time to seek justice,” he concluded.
The law firm that represented the family in the case confirmed that the victim died around 7 p.m. “Tainara could not resist the injuries caused by the brutality carried out against her on November 29, 2025,” underlines a press release from Wilson Zaska Advocacia Criminal.
Tainara underwent a new amputation operation on Monday 22 on the thigh. She also had a tracheotomy to remove the breathing tube and plastic surgery to repair it. Regarding these procedures, the mother had said that they were the most difficult, according to the doctors.
The collision occurred on November 29. The woman was rescued by witnesses and taken to hospital in serious condition. Due to her injuries, she had to have both legs amputated.
Douglas Alves da Silva, 26, identified by the civil police as responsible for the crime, was accused of attempted murder and femicide.
According to investigations and lawyers following the case, Douglas had a previous relationship with the victim and, after seeing her with another man at a bar, he drove his vehicle toward her.
The defense said he was a confessed defendant, but denies any involvement with Tainara.
