Woman drowns in river after being submerged for more than an hour in South Carolina

A 38-year-old woman drowned in the Mampituba River, in the municipality of Praia Grande, south of Santa Catarina, on Saturday afternoon (12/06). According to military firefighters, she was found after being submerged in the river for more than an hour.

Firefighters were called at 1:59 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, the woman was found approximately three kilometers from the aid station, which was active on Saturday.
