
The Civil Guard arrested in the town of Alcossebre in Castellón (2,000 inhabitants) a woman on the run with four minors, including two of her children, of whom she had lost custody, and prosecuted by the Dutch justice system for crimes of sexual exploitation of minors, possession of pedophile material, human trafficking, drug trafficking, kidnapping, illegal detention, hostage-taking and abandonment of minors.
The police intervention made it possible to save the four minors, aged 12 to 17, who are in good condition and were transferred to a reception center in the province until the country of origin assumes their guardianship, according to security force sources. The detainee was imprisoned pending extradition.
On December 7, local police in Alcalá de Xivert, a municipality on which the coastal town of Alcossebre depends, located in the street a 13-year-old girl, the detainee’s daughter, and a 17-year-old boy, who claimed to have been abandoned by the woman. The two minors were taken to a center the same day and explained to the agents that she had continued the journey in a vehicle with two other minors.
After the intervention, agents of the territorial Judicial Police team of the Civil Guard of Vinaròs verified that the woman currently detained had lost custody of her two children, a 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, abandoned in Alcalà de Xivert. He had fled with them and with other young people aged 16 and 17 from the same protection center in the Netherlands where the children were taken care of.
As a result of the investigation, the apartment was located in the town of Alcossebre where the woman was hiding with her 12-year-old son and the 16-year-old young man. She was surprised in her car, near the house, with the two children inside, which led to her arrest for an alleged crime of child abandonment, explained the Civil Guard.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent court of Vinaròs; she was the subject of a European arrest warrant issued by a Dutch court. In the Netherlands, the woman is accused of crimes of sexual exploitation of minors, possession of pedophile material, human trafficking, drug trafficking, kidnapping, illegal detention, hostage-taking and abandonment of minors.
The judicial investigation remains open under the direction of the Central Instruction Court number 6 of the National Court, which ordered his imprisonment pending the extradition procedure. The action was carried out by members of the Civil Guard of Vinaròs in collaboration with the Local Police of Alcalá de Xivert.
