On the international stage, the highlight was Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) victory in the UEFA Super Cup. The French team started a brilliant journey by beating Tottenham on penalties.
Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship
For the first time in history, the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships were held in South America. In Rio de Janeiro, the tournament was historic and marked the achievement of two unprecedented medals for Brazil in this sport.
On August 23, the quintet formed by Duda Arakaki, Nicole Pircio, Sofia Madeira, Mariana Gonçalves and Maria Paula Caminha was delighted to win the unprecedented silver in the general group ranking. In the fight, Brazil trailed Japan by less than a point and moved up to second place on the podium.
The next day, the group shines once again and wins its second silver medal of the tournament. This time in the mixed event, the Brazilians performed well to the sound of Evidências, in the voices of Chitãozinho and Xororó, and were only 0.1 points behind Ukraine.
Bortoleto and Calderano shine
In addition to the world of balls and gymnastics platforms, Brazil shone in Formula 1 with Gabriel Bortoleto. The Brazilian achieved his best result during the Hungarian GP, organized in early August, by taking sixth place.
Hugo Calderano also stood out: one of the country’s leading athletes in 2025. He won the WTT Contender in Foz do Iguaçu, his first title on Brazilian soil this season.
