The driver of a car traveling in the opposite direction on the A-8, in Llanes, died this Tuesday after colliding head-on with a bus in which a youth sports team was traveling.
As reported by ‘El Comercio’, the 75-year-old woman … years old and a resident of Llanes, she drove for about a kilometer until she came across the bus, which was traveling correctly in the direction of Galicia. The woman died after the shock while young people from a school in the Caudal basin who were returning from a football and basketball championship were unhurt.
Around 7:00 p.m., Benemérita became aware of an accident at kilometer 292 of the A-8. One of the hypotheses considered is that the driver could have taken the wrong exit at the Pendueles roundabout.
Likewise, the accident forced the interruption of traffic in the Santiuste tunnel, as well as the diversion of traffic between the 291 and 294 of the A-8 towards the N634.
Four patrols from the Ribadesella and Gijón road detachments were sent to the scene, as well as a UNIS team from the Ribadesella detachment, which will be responsible for the investigation.
