Zezé Di Camargo announced on social networks in the early hours of this Monday (15/12) that he had decided to break off his relations with SBT after the channel made room for political authorities in the launch of SBT News and in a special institutional broadcast.
The singer, who publicly identifies with Bolsonarism, also requested that his participation in the traditional Christmas special not be broadcast.
In a video, the compatriot said he was embarrassed by the presence of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Minister of the Federal Supreme Court Alexandre de Moraes at the events promoted by the channel.
For Zezé, the movement represents a change of direction within the channel, especially after the death of Silvio Santos, to whom he attributes a political vision different from that of the current management.
“I saw what happened on SBT in the last few days, during the inauguration of SBT News. And I swear to God that this is not part of my thinking. I have nothing against anyone, I ask that Brazil do its best. I support the Brazilian people because I live and I depend on the Brazilian people. But, given the situation I saw, people have completely changed their way of thinking, especially the daughters of Silvio Santos, thinking completely differently from what their father thought…” said the singer.
The event that generated the artist’s unease brought together central names in national politics in the same environment, marked by discourses of institutional coexistence. Besides Lula, First Lady Rosangela Janja Lula da Silva, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and ministers such as Fernando Haddad, Jorge Messias and Ricardo Lewandowski participated. For the Federal Court, Alexandre de Moraes and Dean Gilmar Mendes were present. The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, was also present, as well as the Minister of the Federal Court of Auditors, Bruno Dantas.
