A cayuco arrives alone with 283 immigrants in El Hierro, including 28 minors

A canoe with 283 immigrants of sub-Saharan origin It arrived this Friday morning at the La Restinga dock in El Hierro, after being located less than a kilometer from the coast.

Maritime Rescue accompanied the vessel until … port, in which 213 men, 42 women and 28 minors were traveling.

The crew of the Salvamar Navia escorted the vessel to the boarding point from the mouth, as when it was sighted it was already entering under its own power.

This is the second cayuco who arrived in the Canary Islands so far this year after a boat landed in El Hierro on the afternoon of January 1 with 144 sub-Saharan people, among whom were 107 men, 29 women and eight minors.
