The media reported that paramedics at the scene treated a 59-year-old man who was evacuated to Puerto Real Hospital for medical evaluation due to exposure to smoke generated by the fire. The patient’s condition was classified as mild, according to information from police sources collected by 112 Andalucía.
The fire occurred in a semi-detached house in the aforementioned city in Cadiz. The deployment of the emergency teams included controlling and extinguishing the fire and providing maximum attention to the affected person with the aim of preventing complications from smoke inhalation. The event motivated the coordinated deployment of firefighters, health workers and police officers, in accordance with the protocols established for risk situations in private homes.
The Andalusian Emergency Agency and its affiliated services stressed the importance of acting quickly upon receiving the warning in order to facilitate the rescue and early care of the patient and prevent further harm. The management of this incident was part of the usual procedure for incidents in residential buildings, where smoke inhalation is one of the main risks to the health of those staying in the building, as 112 Andalucía highlighted.
The relevant authorities continue to carry out follow-up measures, collect data and provide assistance to citizens following incidents of this type, in accordance with applicable regulations and in collaboration with the various security and emergency authorities in the region. The case adds to episodes in which interagency coordination is critical to ensure health care and protection for neighbors affected by house fires.
