Rafael da Cruz Fontoura was arrested Friday morning, accused of assaulting his 38-year-old wife with punches, kicks, hair pulling and biting inside the couple’s residence.
Version presented to the police
During a statement to the civil police, the sergeant presented a video in which his ex-partner appears brandishing a piece of wood during the argument.
He did not deny the existence of attacks, but maintained that the confrontation was mutual, a version which will now be analyzed during the investigation.
According to police, no request for preventive detention has been filed because the person under investigation does not have a criminal record or a history of domestic violence.
