Laurent Simons, the Belgian “little Einstein”, studies fields such as chemistry, physics and medicine
For most people, the educational journey follows a more or less predictable rhythm: finishing high school around age 17 or 18, entering college, and eventually continuing on to higher education as an adult. Masters and doctorates therefore generally take place between the ages of 20 and 30, after years of study.
But there are stories that deviate completely from this model. One of them is that of Laurent Simons, a A Belgian boy of only 15 years old who shattered all expectations by achieving academic goals rare even among adults. After obtaining a university degree in physics, a master’s degree at the University of Antwerp in Belgium and a doctorate in quantum physics at one of the most respected institutions in the world, the Max Planck Institute in Germany, he now wants to start creating “superhumans”.
Little Einstein from Belgium: discover Laurent Simons
Before he was even 10 years old, Laurent Simons was already known in Europe for his extraordinary intelligence. Born in the city of Ostend, Belgium, the boy demonstrated ease of learning from an early age. He began his studies at the age of four and progressed so quickly that he completed primary school before turning 7.
This ultra-accelerated progression continued in the following years. Three years later, at just 9 years old, Laurent was already at university. In 2021, he became the first 11-year-old child to obtain a baccalaureate in Belgium. At the age of 12, he completed his master’s degree in quantum physics at…
