A dozen criminals tried to rob an armored car on Rodovia Luiz de Queiroz, in Piracicabainside São Paulo, in the afternoon of this Friday 2. According to preliminary information, the criminals were armed and used at least four SUV vehicles in the criminal action.
According to the Secretary of State for Public Security (SSP-SP) and the Military Police, the suspects blew up the armored vehicle and fled without taking any money. Still according to the SSP-SP, no injuries have been reported and, according to the Prime Minister, the guards of the vehicles are fine.
The civil police are also investigating this matter. Until the last update of this report, there was no information on those captured.
“Maintenance of order has been strengthened and the teams of the Military Police, including specialized units, and Deic (State Department of Criminal Investigation) of Piracicaba, is leading efforts to identify and locate criminals. The incident is still ongoing,” informed the SSP-SP.
The Special Actions Police Battalion (BAEP) of the Military Police is also participating in searches in the area, with support from the PM helicopter.
“All roads in the area are monitored by police and the use of technology. The incident is ongoing and further information will be released in due course,” the military police informed.
