Five people died following an outbreak of influenza A in the Santa Caridad nursing home, located on the central Temprado street, in Seville. As confirmed by the health monitoring service ten people would have been affected … for illnessone of them being a nursing assistant who works at the center.
From the nine residents, five of them had to be hospitalized and unfortunately they died. This residence is private and does not have spaces provided by the Junta de Andalucía.
This tragic news comes shortly after a decrease in flu rates was recorded in Andalusia, despite this Health advises not to “let your guard down”. In addition, by mid-December the coverage rate against influenza was reached in Andalusian nursing homes of 90.1% and 1.73 million doses were administered to all population groups.
At the beginning of last December, the Spanish Society of Emergency Medicine warned against continued increase observed in hospitals and health centers due to this disease.
