Former Minister Geddel Vieira Lima (MDB-BA) said he was the victim of physical assault during a New Year’s Eve party in the early hours of Thursday (1/1) at Interlagos, a luxury condominium located in Camaçari (BA).
In the column, the former minister of national integration from Lula’s second term said he was accompanied by his wife when he was attacked by a man, who allegedly immobilized him with a blow known as the “rear naked choke.”

“The reality is I was sitting with my wife when a person came up to me from behind and put me in a sort of headlock saying, ‘You have to die, politics has to die,'” Geddel said.
Leader of the MDB, the former minister also informed that he had filed a complaint with the police and that the administration of the co-ownership had sent the images from the security cameras to the authorities.

“The camera captured the moment of the attack. I searched for the property manager and called the police. It is suspected that he was hosting a resident. This is a place I have been going to for 30 years. Like my friends, I will have to walk safely,” he said.
The Chronicle contacted the Bahia Civil Police press office, but received no response. The space remains open for possible events.
