The one known as the “Gift Truck” raffle a one-time donation worth 300,000 euros. It includes a Ferrari 458 vehicle, 59,500 euros in gold, three motorcycles from the Ducati, Yamaha and KTM brands and two international trips, among other items.
The owner, David Pérez Nieto, withdrew the stolen ballots from the draw, as well as the money, although he guaranteed new editions in the years to come. “Even if unfortunate people came to steal from me, they’re not going to stop me“, he assured, after emphasizing that he had taken “more drastic security measures” to prevent his phone from ringing again at 3:12 a.m., alerting him of such an event.
Stressing that the theft of the ballot box, “in the eyes of the draw”, “does not affect it in any way”, he explained that despite the fact that the stolen ballots were found inside the ballot box which seemed to have burst in a property in Cala (Huelva), he preferred to delete them. “While it is true that they cannot be faked, you never know what kind of people could have found them, taken photos and, in some way, faked them perfectly,” the truck owner explained, adding that the move means not being able to charge 14,000 euros.

Its owner explained that the investigation opened by the Civil Guard remains open in order to reach those responsible for the theft. However, he is confident that the authors have experience, being “prepared with tools” that allow them to “do what they want”.
“East people who committed theft in banks, stores, gas stations… in many places”, he defended, reiterating his desire that the authorities can find those responsible, even if he cannot recover the lost money. In light of the latest images that he was able to see on the security cameras of the area, the owner pointed out that on them we can see how two of the perpetrators “from above they push the box, they throw it” and later the five of them put her in the car.
On the other hand, he regretted having received comments in which he was accused of being the author of the theft to recover the insurance. Indeed, in this regard, after emphasizing that the costs of the raffle “were covered for a long period”, he indicated that “No insurance wants to cover of something so striking.”
