One of the most anticipated and lively heralds of the city of Seville is undoubtedly that of Macarena district. Every year, this traditional event becomes an unmissable event for the inhabitants of the neighborhood, who take to the streets to live … a day full of emotions, music and festive atmosphereas a preliminary step to the arrival of Their Majesties the Three Wise Men of the East.
Will it be Sunday January 4 when magic once again roams the streets of this emblematic district of Seville with the help of the Heraldo de la Macarena, responsible for collecting letters from the little ones. In this edition, the honor of embodying the neighborhood’s royal postman goes to Santiago Bejaranopresident of the Cultural Association of Friends of the Cross and Notre-Dame de Consolation.
Macarena Herald Calendar 2026
The departure of this herald was initially scheduled for Saturday January 3, 2026, even if a change finally occurred. From the Macarena district itself, we learned last Monday, December 29 that due to rain forecasts, the meeting would be moved to Sunday January 4. Despite this date adjustment, the calendar remains unchanged, evolving between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.. It should be noted that departure and final collection will take place in the Virgin House of Kingslocated on Fray Isidoro street in Seville.
Macarena Herald Tour 2026
The procession of the Herald of the Macarena will travel for approximately four hours different streets in the neighborhood. However, this year’s itinerary has some mandatory changes, since had to adapt to the work which are currently taking place on several routes used by the parade.
