Coach Chivu’s team wins 3-1 and accumulates its fifth consecutive victory in the competition
THE Inter Milan responded to pressure from his rival and took over the leadership of Italian Championship this Sunday. At the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, the team led by Cristian Chivu won the Bologna 3-1, on the 18th day, and returns to the top of the ranking after seeing Milan take the advantage the day before.
With their fifth consecutive victory, Inter reached 39 points and opened a minimal advantage over second-place Milan. Napoli, with 37, and Juventus, with 33, complete the group of top four. Bologna, meanwhile, remains in seventh place, with 26 points, still close to the fight for European competitions.
From the first minutes, Inter imposed a high pace and territorial control. In front of nearly 75,000 supporters, the team created several chances, mainly with Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram.
Bastoni also appeared as an element of surprise, but stopped after a good intervention from goalkeeper Ravaglia, who avoided a more elastic score before the break.
The superiority turned into a goal after just 44 minutes of play in the first half. Lautaro Martínez made an individual play on the left, passed two goals and, before being brought down, rolled towards Zielinski, who finished at the edge of the area to open the score for Meazza.
In the second half, the scenario continued. Inter only needed three minutes to develop, again from a free kick. After a corner, Lautaro Martínez scored the second, consolidating the Nerazzurro’s domination.
Even with an advantage, the team continued to press and create opportunities. At 29, Dimarco takes a corner accurately and finds Thuram, who climbs to the second floor and heads firmly to score the third. Bologna reduced again in the last minutes, with Castro, but the goal only served for statistical purposes.
Inter will return to the field next Wednesday, against Parma, at 4:45 p.m. (Brasilia time), at the Ennio Tardini stadium. The same day, earlier, Bologna hosts Atalanta, at 2:30 p.m., to try to get back into the competition.
