MADRID, January 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least one Palestinian died and several were injured this Friday by shots fired by the Israeli army in the south of the Gaza Strip, despite the ceasefire in force since October following the implementation of the first phase of the proposal presented by the United States for the future of the enclave.
According to information collected by the Palestinian newspaper “Filastin”, the shooting took place southeast of the city of Khan Yunis, without yet having more details on what happened and without the Israeli army having commented on the incident.
Since the ceasefire took effect in the Gaza Strip, a total of 416 people have been killed and 1,153 injured in incidents linked to Israeli military actions. Furthermore, the bodies of 683 people were found, most of them buried under the rubble.
The Gaza authorities, controlled by Hamas, brought the death toll to around 71,270 deaths due to the offensive launched by Israel against the Gaza Strip after the attacks of October 7, 2023, which left around 1,200 dead and around 250 kidnapped, according to the official Israeli toll.
