While many celebrated the beginning of the year, La Plata hospitals were on alert for any emergency this Thursday, January 1st. And at dawn came good news, as two births were carried out, ending with the birth of the first babies of 2026.
The first occurred at 4:24 a.m. in San Roque de Gonnet. “We welcomed Benicio Felipe with the joy of his mother Gabriela and his father Facundo,” said the doctors who carried out the procedure.
They said the little boy weighed 3,750 kg and, like his mother, was in excellent health. The on-call staff of the tocogynecological service who attended the birth consisted of Dr. Valentina Tacchini, Dr. Agustina Fernández Mastropierro, Lic. María Inés Huarte, Dr. Lucia Lazarte, Dr. Carina Huth, Lic. Girometti and Lic. Ignacio Sanz.
On the other hand, Ivana Jazmín was born hours later at the San Martín Hospital. It was 7:43 a.m. and the baby weighed 2,400 kg. The mother is 36.3. It was a week of pregnancy and everything went “perfectly”, it was said in an interview with EL DIA.
The medical team that attended the birth consisted of Florencio Cao, Tomás Sau and Martina Tarling, accompanied by Mauricio Lauquen, neonatology staff member of the polyclinic.
