The Caixa Econômica Federal once again mentioned this Thursday 1st the delay of more than 12 hours in the completion of the Mega da Virada draw. According to the entity, the prize of 1.09 billion reais caused the “largest volume ever recorded in history” on its betting channels.

The release reported peaks of around 120,000 transactions per second in digital channels and 4,745 transactions per second in lottery units.

“It is important to highlight that the historic prize of R$ 1.09 billion generated an unprecedented movement in betting channels, with peaks of approximately 120 thousand transactions per second in digital channels and 4,745 transactions per second in lottery units. This is the highest volume ever recorded in the history of Mega da Virada,” the note said.

Before the draw, via social networks, customers declared that they had not confirmed their games. However, according to Caixa, all bets were “duly processed” and “no punter with a valid game was excluded from the draw”.

As for bets with the “cancelled” status, the institution affirmed that they “did not have a confirmed payment within the allotted time and were therefore not processed”.

For those who had a financial debt in these cases, the amounts will be canceled without any prejudice to the client, according to Caixa’s statement.

After the delay, Mega da Virada was drawn this Thursday morning. Six bets matched all six numbers and guaranteed R$181,892,881.09 each, out of a total prize of R$1,091,357,286.52.

The winning bets came from João Pessoa, in Paraíba, from Franco da Rocha, in São Paulo, and from Ponta Porã, in Mato Grosso do Sul, in addition to three bets made through digital channels.
