The Caixa Econômica Federal will proceed with the draw for the Mega da Virada, starting at 10 a.m. this Thursday (1/1), after an unprecedented postponement due to the strong flow of bets. The price increased further and reached a record amount of 1.09 billion reais.
The competition draw was scheduled for last Wednesday at 10 p.m. (12/31), maintaining the tradition that the prize is announced on the last day of the year. However, after a delay of more than an hour, Caixa Econômica announced the postponement of the draw by 12 hours. View the statement:
In a note sent to MetropolisesCaixa reported that the record price generated “an unprecedented movement in betting channels, which reached 120,000 transactions per second in the digital channel and 4,745 transactions per second in lottery units.”
The Mega da Virada draw will be broadcast live on Caixa Econômica’s social networks.
It is worth remembering that unlike other competitions, Mega da Virada does not accumulate. If no one gets the six digits correct, the 1.09 billion reais prize will be shared among everyone who got the correct coin – and so on.
